CAREERS & PATHWAYS
Thinking about life after secondary school can feel overwhelming. There's support at school to help you choose a pathway — and this section sets out the subjects, VET courses and tertiary options that lead to ~50 careers, drawn from the Careers Department booklet.
THREE POSTSCHOOL PATHWAYS
Tap a tile to read about each route. Most students mix and match — VET inside VCE, a gap year before uni, an apprenticeship that leads to further study.
Many students go directly to university from school. There are also alternative pathways through recognised VET studies or foundation programs.
When considering university, explore course requirements including prerequisite Year 11 and 12 subjects, the costs of study, and what work the qualification leads to.
The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is an admissions test for medical, dental and clinical science degrees — careers tagged with UCAT in this section require it.
